  the september 1, 2011, issue of the watchtower states, on page 10, the following about when armageddon will occur/take place:.

  I'm okay punk, been busy trying to avoid field service and other pointless acts of futility.

  Ya know, I bet you all the tea in China that they will claim that this "system" may go on for another 900-1000 years (being that Christ's 1000 year reign started in 1914 according to their Ministry of Truth). And when people call them out and say, "I thought you raisin cakes were preaching about some big ass war of Armegeddon!" the JWs will reply, "Yes, it's still true, but it turns out that Armegeddon is INVISIBLE!" (as if you need special glasses or a decoder ring to see it).

  "But in the meantime, while you're waiting to be destroyed over the next 1000 years, why not stop by one of our convienient credit card donation boths located in the assembly lobby?"

  I am completely and utterly confused. So Armageddon is happening right now? What about the Great Tribulation? Gog of Magog's attack? False religion being destroyed and then them finally attacking Jehovah's Witnesses?

  i received the following email from a former jw that i thought to share.

  note: i retyped the boe letter that was sent from the christian congregation of jehovahs witnesses to all congregations in the us.

  the letter is authentic.

  It's depressing to think that the overwhelming majority of JWs will applaud this when this letter is read. "What a loving provision from Jehovah!" or "The Society is truly looking out for us!" or some other equally Orwellian nonsense.

  I truly believe that if they read a letter next week officially sanctioning child molestation, 98.8% of JWs would call it a "loving provision from Jehovah."

  Brain-dead, plugged-in, mind-rotted fools. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad.

  What % of each JW talk do the dubs listen to?

  not sure how long the sunday sermon is now, maybe 30 mins?

  how much of that are people listening to?.

  the kh is stuffy, the kids at the back of you is kicking up a fuss, the kid at the front of you is choughing all over the place, theres several hotties to your left , to your right theres that asshole jerk who really upset you last week, you just remembered on the way back home you've got to get some food in from the shops, and you must remember to speak to brother so and so about this that and the other, and also you need to remind sister example about that stuff, shit!

  Another question, if I may...

  this is another general question for the board and i ask your indulgence because i am trying to understand how others think.

  if there truly is no god/god... what is wrong with the existence of religion?

  Hey Shelby, (reese's pieces to you! haha get it? huh?....... oh nevermind)

  Anywho, I am actually reading some information right now on different hypothesis' concerning the origins of religion. If there is no God, then just where did religion originate? Fascinating question when you look at it from a scientific standpoint, regardless of whether you are an athiest or a believer. I believe that if (IF) there is no God, religion is essentially a by-product of some sort of social evolution. If that is the case, then any other industry or culture would be the product of similiar social conditioning and natural selection.

  Now if there is a God, then surely man was created with a need to worship Him. But then you could also ask the question (depending on which part of the world you live in) just WHO is God? Is he Yahweh? Allah? Budda? James Woods?

  I would agree with Outlaw in that I have a special vehemance against any organization which would extort a person using fear and guilt. And in particular I am referring to the WTBS. However, when you look at how industries and corporations rape and decimate 3rd World cultures, it's easy to see that A LOT of what man has set up, God or no God, is pretty nasty. But so as not to sound like a pessimist (of which I am) I also think that if you look at things realistically, man has accomplished much good.

  Infant baptism is ridiculous, though, right?

  Infuriating, sir. You have to be approved by the Service Committee in order to get baptized. Which leads me to ask just what kind of lunatic would think it logical to allow a minor (and a very young minor at that) to make a committment to a global organization where if they stick with it are expected to give up their life for it, literally, or if they chose to leave are cut off from their family? This isn't madness, this is Watchtower!

  well, stole retroactively.

  a friend pointed out a glaring omission in the book of bible stories.. well frankly a bold faced lie of omission!.

  its a tragedy but fact that most of us raised as dubbie kids learn the bible from the "my book of bible story's"... story 15 is about lot and his family leaving sodom.
